Autumn Walk to Cornwall Park
Today Room 11 and Room 12 walked to Cornwall Park to observe the signs of Autumn. The children did well to walk there safely with not a moan or grizzle!! When we arrived, we spent some time observing the changes we could see that were signs that autumn was here. Then we gathered different things to put in our autumn collection (a plastic zip lock bag!). We will use these experiences to motivate our writing over the next few days. Here are some photos from the park.Monday, 2 May 2016
Autumn Art
This week we are creating an Autumn Art Piece. Today we went and chose an autumn leaf. We found lots of shades of orange, gold, yellow, red and purple. We used our eyes to observe the shape and parts of the leaf. We found creases, cracks, veins and even holes where tiny bugs had been nibbling. We used sketching pencils to draw what we saw. Here are some photos of us concentrating while we are sketching. We are real artists. You will have to come in next Monday to see our finished masterpieces!!
