Repeating Patterns

We have been learning about repeating patterns in maths. Today we worked with a buddy to make a repeating pattern using two different shapes. We  had to read the patterns out to the class. Can you read the patterns we made?

Positional Language

Room 11 have been learning the language of position. On, under, through, behind, beside, between, in front of. Here are some photos of us in the playground. See if you can describe where the children are in the playground.

Te Reo 

This afternoon Whaea Caroline came to Room 11 to practise our Te Reo. We sang some songs, learnt some new words and used the poi. Pippa recognised the song taku poi e from the movie Boy. Here are some photos of us practising.

Grandparents Mass

This morning we celebrated Mass with our Grandparents followed by a shared morning tea. It was lovely having them come into Room 11 and sharing our learning with them. We painted some pictures of them and wrote a story describing them.

Soccer Dribble

Room 11 and 12 have been learning how to dribble a soccer ball. We have to remember to look at the ball and use the inside of our foot. We try not to do big kicks but control the ball. At the end we have a competition to see who can do the biggest kick. The children are trying really hard and are improving their skills each time we practise.
